I never thought a day would come when my boss and I shall cease fire. This is proof that Sir Michael is slowly becoming my “friend”.

My table, which is positioned right in front of the door, makes me prone to a lot of distractions. There’s this guy next door who keeps on coming to the showroom trying to get my number. Though he’s a really kind person, his constant chattering keeps me from my work. As much as I’d like to shoo him away, pissing off an Arab is something i dare not do.

Neighbor-guy “visits” Violet. Violet tries to be respectful but shows that she is busy. Neighbor-guy asks Violet all sorts of questions. Violet pounds harder on her keyboard and shuffles through a lot of paperwork for him to see. Neighbor-guy continues to talk. Violet is frustrated. Neighbor-guy shares facts about himself. Violet flees into the back office where the rest of the staff are.

A bewildered Sir Michael looks at Violet.

Violet to Sir Michael: Sir, call me!

Violet runs back to her front table hoping that Sir Michael gets the message. “Call me!” meaning, “Save me! Do your normal thing of loudly shouting my name whenever you need me to do something so that this guy would realize I am busy and will courteously walk away.”

Sir Michael to Emily: What did she say?

Sir Michael obvioulsy does not get the message. Emily the Wise calls through intercom.

“Violet, come here in the office. I have work for you to do here.”

Violet gives Neighbor-guy a sorry look and immediately goes to the back office. Everyone laughs except Sir Michael.

Violet cautiously peeks at the front door. Neighbor-guy still stands there. Sir Michael leaves the office. Violet sits down in despair.

Sir Michael comes back with a grin.

Sir Michael to Violet: “I closed the door already. I talked to the man POLITELY and he went away. You can go back to your table now.”

Violet obediently walks back to her table.
