Finding Family in RAK

Last month I found family in Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost part of UAE bordering Oman.

There lives my brother’s best friend who married my sister in-law’s sister. Confusing?

Here’s a photo to make it less complicated. My brother Lyle and Kuya James are super friends. Ate Cherry and Ate Edwina are sisters. Lyle married Cherry. James married Edwina.

They are now on a race on who’s gonna have more kids. So far, the Lucasi’s are winning. I don’t know if that’s good or bad.

Kuya James’s family went home to the Philippines for Christmas and the kids (Jade, Jamie & Jude) spent time with my nephews and nieces (Sam, Nikki, Zion and Zuriel).

I feel closer to home being with them.

Jade, Jamie and Jude.

Yesterday, the Captain and I went to RAK for my ”supplies” (those special things that can only be made and bought in the Philippines) arranged by my loving brother slash purchase officer, Leo.

Check out our speed meter. This was how fast he could go!

There’s the Captain, shopping with Jade.

After coffee and meeting the family, we drove home.

But hungry stomachs led us to a stop at Dubai.

We went to Marina Walk which reminded me of Bonifacio High Street & Serenda, but with a beach.

Midnight-Dinner-Breakfast at Roadster Diner.

Light Fish for me. I threw away the lemon.

Chicken Quesadillas for him.

Yes, Cap, the whole world wonders why you don’t smile. Aren’t you happy? *Pressure*

I found their toilets pretty interesting. The waste bin is electronic! It senses my tissue (or rather my hand). Welcome to the new world, Pocahontas.

Of course, a pictorial inside the toilet. Nice tiles eh.

I couldn’t let Frank Sinatra go thirsty.

I could use this sign.

Find the hidden Violet. Yes, that’s me up there.

I commend the tolerant Captain who consents and engages in my photo-documenting silliness. Thank you for patiently waiting for me to take photos of the food even if you’re dying of hunger.

Everybody owes you the fun shots even if you look stupid sometimes like taking a photo of a girl in a toilet.

Diba?

    1. i have an irrational fear of oranges and its entire family. kinikilabutan ako ng husto with just a single sight. haha.

talagang sinearch ko pa ang ”ubiquitous”. marami namang rice meals ate, hindi lang talaga ako nagririce masyado. but it is ubiquitous coz there are lotsa indians here.

Jade is kuya James’s first kid 🙂
