My husband’s surprise on Valentines Day was a long drive to another emirate of the UAE which is more than 3 hours away and has a coastline solely on the Gulf of Oman. The real treat was I get to drive!

I was ready for the trip: seatbelt, check; navigator, check, CCF sermon, check.

Half an hour later, a terrible uninvited headache joined our roadtrip. I drove until the border of Abu Dhabi and Dubai before I had to let go.

I was disappointed but eventually felt OK, after we stopped for Baskin Robbins.

Ice cream makes all the pain go away for this big little kid.

Driving through Fujairah was amazing. I haven’t seen so many desert mountains until this time.

Passed by a fascinating plant…

Being on the passenger’s seat wasn’t bad enough. I could take pictures, sleep and eat when I wanted to.
