The purpose

It’s been my darkest days at work. Literally. I go in before sunrise and come home before dawn.

And just when I reached the point of total exhaustion, when self-pity started to become my daily coffee,

Just when I started questioning my purpose, my existence in a sandbox that finds me dispensable,

I receive a message, from my sister who I have put through college,

From my first sweat upon touchdown in this foreign land, to the last tear of tonight,

4 years of labor and we are fully-paid, a few days soon, a Psychologist will be added to our family.

When you think beyond yourself, you find purpose.

When you think beyond your strength, you find God.
