I am in a nursing generation.
Two of my best friends are nurses in Canada. One of them was recently appointed head nurse, the first Filipino who achieved that rank in the hospital she works in.
A lot of my closest friends are nurses scattered all around the globe. They have passed rigorous exams required both nationally and in the countries they work in. They are all intellectuals, highly trained and highly qualified.
Maryland Evening News exposes the ”controversy”.
Yes, First World, you may be cashing out a lot of money but in return you get certified and highly competent professional workers who nurse not only with their hands but with their hearts.
It’s just sad that the Philippines can produce such bright minds and yet can’t offer enough jobs and competitive salaries to make them stay in the country.
Nevertheless, I am proud of all the Filipino nurses back home and around the world!
