Corporate Games Opening Ceremony 2012

Welcome to the First Ever Abu Dhabi Corporate Games!

Organized for the last 24 years in 53 cities across 25 countries in five continents, Corporate Games is the world’s largest multi-sports festival for businesses and organizations. The Abu Dhabi Corporate Games mark the sporting extravaganza’s foray into the UAE.

After a year’s preparation, gathering support and participants, the waiting is now over and the games was officially opened Wednesday night, at the Zayed Sports City Stadium.

Half of the Ladies Football team, other half was flying that night

Happy blur with Coach Ben!

With my boss, Michael, world class bowler!

Waiting for the parade to start

Supportive husband being one of us

Etihad didn’t have any flags to wave around, but we had steady poles all around.

”Let’s make this our flag”

*whistle blows*

“Excuse me, you’re not allowed to do that.”

The great parade begins

Entering the stadium

Signing autographs for imaginary fans

Officially opened by the Games Patron, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister for Higher Education

Corporate Games CEO Fanny Marcout

“Sport teaches us how to win gracefully and how to lose with dignity… Sport highlights the importance of building friendships with others who share the same values and interests,” Sheikh Nahyan said.

Small me, big stadium

Thank you, Lord, for giving me rare opportunities like this, to play and enjoy the game I love so much.
