But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. Philippians 3:13
PURSUING INTIMACY WITH GOD THROUGH DISCIPLINE
Accountability is having someone to talk to, confide in and pray with. An accountability partner encourages you, rebukes you, rejoices with you and weeps with you in every season of your life.
The best accountability group I have is my childhood friends. We have seen the best and the worst of each other.
Ever since I was a kid, they had been my check and balance. Through the years, we have grown from being character assassins to loving ninjas, who constantly watch each others backs.
With them I put my guard down and speak freely. I do not fear making or admitting mistakes, for I have been a recipient of their endless love and grace.
Our friendship was not a walk in the park. This kind of trust was built over time, strengthened by fights and toughened by forgiveness. With them, my whole life is an open book and I intend to keep it that way.
Choose your friends wisely and surround yourself with people who will build you up in Godly counsel.
