Day 10: The Discipline of Fasting

But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.
Philippians 3:13

PURSUING INTIMACY WITH GOD THROUGH DISCIPLINE

The start of the year is the best time to fast. Fasting is temporarily giving up something to focus completely on what matters most. It isn’t done to lose weight, punish yourself or to appear better than others.

“Fasting is not a way to get God to do what we want. Fasting changes us, not God.”

This is my favorite time of the year, when in humility and joyfulness, I take my eyes off the things of this world and redirect my attention to my Maker.

  1. Hi Guys! I’ve been trying to find CCF Family here in Abu Dhabi for almost 2 months until by accident I saw this page/blog. I just want to ask you guys if I can join the group? I’m an active member of CCF Tiendesitas and St. Francis Square until I decided to travel and work abroad. I guess my faith bring me here in UAE after I was being layoff at my work in KSA.
