My day started early with a meeting. Whatever the outcome (which I still don’t know until now), I see it as a gift from God, assuring me to keep on walking.
I walked all the way home, passing through green grass, cool air and blue skies – the normal New Zealand scenery. It was the perfect setting for my prayer time. I asked the Lord to help me lose weight this year.
And then I came home to this!
This happy, wacky, caring family embraced me as one of their own. For now, all I can do to return the favor is to pray that the Lord would grant them the deepest desires of their hearts.
And that Neil (that cute little boy) would get the playground he has been praying for since I arrived.
The night ended with a cousin, a new friend and mussels in garlic butter!
The next day, just when I resolved to start my healthy diet, I woke up to this!
Meet my awesome cousins – Gernon, Hallel and her husband Ellis. They are my mother’s brother’s kids. We haven’t seen each other in more than a decade!
They welcomed me in their lovely home with overflowing love, coffee and food. What a reunion!
This birthday has been abundant with words of affirmation from family, friends, readers, followers and haters around the globe.
Thank you so much for celebrating with me. I pray that while the Lord bless your hearts, he would shrink my stomach! Haha.
See you next year!
Dad used to comment, “Why are we celebrating birthdays? And why are we rejoicing during birthdays? Don’t you know that it’s one year closer to the grave?” Hahahaha! But of course one year older means a year nearer to our heavenly inheritance as co-heir or joint-heir with Christ.
Enjoy being out of the calendar count!

I guess being out of the box (calendar) is better! Haha. I feel freedom! Thanks kuya, for being a very loving older brother. I love you much!

Seeing all these greetings must warm your heart. Let me add mine in this medium where I “see” you most often. Belated happy birthday dear Violet! May you find rest for your soul and the peace that passes understanding and God in the silence as Elijah did.
