The first team in a decade to achieve a coveted four-peat!
Ateneo’s quest for a historic fourth straight title ended Saturday as the Blue Eagles clinched the 74th UAAP seniors’ basketball championship with another masterful sweep of Far Eastern University. – http://sports.inquirer.net
Watching these brought tears to my eyes. I know from experience how serious Ateneo varsity teams are in training and working hard to achieve moments like this. I rejoice with this win!
As Rick Olivares says, we are strangers bound by school colors and nothing more – in frenzied celebration. Loud and proud, I celebrate with you. This school spirit is addictive.
Here’s a peek at the Blue Eagles’ 4-peat dugout celebration.
I specially liked that 1:04 moment, ”Let’s pray.” If a team prays like this, you know there’s a Christian in there.
“I’m glad I could help them in the last 4 years and go out with a championship,” Kirk Long said. “There’s no better way to go out. That’s how every senior wants to leave – winning their last game.”
I am now wanting a four-peat t-shirt.
