The Ancient City is the door opening to the heritage of Thai wisdom.
One afternoon of biking around freely was a special treat for me – not worrying whether my skirt is long enough or my neckline high enough, not having to encounter annoying stares and lewd comments from strangers, independently strolling around where tourist and locals are equal and I don’t have to step aside or bike aside for some seemingly more important people.
The sun shining on my toes and the wind blowing through my face, seeing how the red, brown and grey of human creation blend with the blue and green of nature, basking in the rich tradition of this country built on a heritage of respect and spirituality, all these made me appreciate that I am Asian and I am part of this side of the world.
This is one tour I would definitely do again.

Violet, I was sooo blessed to have you here during those times. You don’t know that i was struggling but the Lord is sooo good. ‘Twas a miracle i didn’t expect – message from a long lost friend i didn’t think i can meet again in another country.
