This hour marks a beautiful end to one year of me taking a running jump into the uncharted.

Today we launched our new TV commercial featuring Nicole Kidman. Of all our TV ads, this is the one I liked the most. The script is short, deep and well-written. It resonates with me and the year that I just had.

“Occasionally, people come along who are not content with simply moving things along. They want to take things further. Tear up the plans and start again…”

It’s been a year since I bade farewell to my Flight Operations family – the people who filled my first 2 years in Etihad with cheers and laughter.

On this day, a year ago, I moved my boxes into the e-commerce domain. I was inducted into long days and crazy nights in the office. My nights ended with sore eyes, drained brain, unanswered personal emails and a growing list of to do’s at home.

But God would always remind me, “work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” If I needed to trudge through the wilderness to be a better writer, I will.

Today, I look back and I see 1 set of footprints in the sand. God carried me through, and I know I am a better, stronger person than the girl I saw in the mirror last year.

“They will see the future and tear down the walls to reach it. Insist the dream is possible. Bored by reinvention of the superficial kind. They want more. Because their goal isn’t to improve on what has been done before – but to totally reimagine it.”
