Sabah is a Malaysian state in the northern part of the island of Borneo.
Before this, I knew nothing about Borneo apart from the territorial dispute between Malaysia and the Philippines over Eastern Sabah.
My instructor tagged me along in this trip to help him connect with the local paragliders and discover new fly sites.
The flight was 1 hour and 45 minutes from Manila. We landed in Kota Kinabalu then travelled onwards to Keningau, where our local contact was based.
Azizan, his wife Mawar and their son, warmly welcomed us like old friends.
They provided for our camping needs and helped us settle down.
What a privilege to test the skies of Sabah together with these 2 masters of flying…
I had no idea how much fun awaited me in the next few days as we hopped from one district to another.
Join me as I explore Keningau, Tambunan and Ranau!
