As my friends’ packing progressed, my heart got heavier and heavier.

I don’t have lots of friends in the UAE. I chose it to be that way. Because as I look back in my life, I can count with my fingers the people who remain constant during my darkest days. And the friends who I thought were friends, will not even cast a shadow in desperate times.

Having one guy in the group makes us girls feel special. He does everything for us in the most loving way. From packing our bags to cooking our food, he spoils us to death. The only thing we can’t ask him to do is to protect us from spiders.

They’re ready to go…

They’re standing here outside my door, the dawn is breaking, it’s early morn. My car is waiting…

Already I’m so lonesome, I could die.

So kiss me and smile for me…

They’re leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when they’ll be back again…

We may all live in different parts of the world and yet we know where home is… together.

These people remain my greatest ally. They are my fellow soldiers who fight my wars with me – no judgement, no condemnation.

How do I know God is real? Because He gave me people like them who are reflections of His grace and love.

We only part to meet again.
